'Battle Ready & Equipped for Spiritual Warfare'

Becoming Battle Ready: Equipping yourself for the war against your faith. The Lord knew that we would face trials and tribulations on earth if we were to accept, love and serve Him. He has provided us with a wealth of scriptural support and truths in order to equip us for the spiritual warfare we would face. One of the most significant scriptures as it relates to God equipping us for this battle is found in the book of Ephesians. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand . 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:10-18). These are powerful scriptures that encompasses all aspects of what is needed to be victorious in our fight. It is clear that this is a spiritual battle against forces in dark places and therefore the importance of knowing the power in the word of God. It is our spiritual sword and the more we know and use His word the sharper and more effective our spiritual sword will be! The war we are in is not new but actually began in the heavens prior to Gods creation of mankind. We are told in God’s word that the first spiritual battle took place amongst His angels resulting in Satan’s expulsion from heaven. As a result of Satan's expulsion he has set his mission to be nothing short of total destruction. His sole purpose is to seek, devour and destroy. He is the wolf in sheep's clothing, he is the roaring lion seeking to devour. He is the father of lies and the great deceiver seeking to silence and destroy God's beloved creation.
